The Mini Machine Guns CD Release, Ryan Sheffield and Waller
Doors @ 9:00 p.m.
Cover $7
The Mini Machines Guns Listen to Mini Machines Gun's newest tracks from the album.
Mike Moerlins moved to Atlanta from Tallahassee, FL to go to Georgia Tech in 2001. Without much ambition (or time) to create a band, Mike was happy to play acoustic guitar in his dorm room when he could. Listening to the emo and pop punk bands that were popular at the time, Mike focused on learning to play as many songs as he could.
Meanwhile, one-at-a-time, Mike and Dan Edwards and Eli Dickerson made their way from Georgetown, SC to Atlanta, GA. Childhood friends with a common interest in music, Eli, Dan and Mike formed the band, OBKB, with a unique blend of punk, rock and roll and gritty blues.
In 2005, Mike Moerlins met Eli and was asked to fill in on rhythm guitar with OBKB. After playing with OBKB for a short while, Mike was introduced to the North Carolina "grunge-grass" band, The Avett brothers and developed a new love of energetic blue grass and folk music. At the same time, Mike was also filling in as lead guitarist for the acoustic southern rock band, Fernandina. Fitting in well with the acoustic music Mike had been used to playing, he used this as an inspiration to write some original songs.
One or two songs quickly turned into nine or ten and Mike needed someone to help him make the songs great. He asked the guys from OBKB if they would provide the backup instrumentation that his songs needed and a new band was born. With Eli on bass, Dan on lead guitar and Mike Edwards on drums and backup vocals, they transformed from a plain-jane, one-person act, into the Mini Machine Guns.
The Mini Machine guns will debut their first recorded album on September 4th, 2010.
Ryan Sheffield
Music has taken Ryan across the country and back and back again. It gives him more freedom than perhaps anything else in his life. The kind of freedom that liberates us from societal expectations. Because of music Ryan makes ’stupid’ choices and gives ‘irresponsible’ advice and in turn frees us.
It’s harder to separate a performing artist from his work than say an author. Even though a musician still makes a finished product, a recording that thrives independently, each performance is a remaking of the music and himself. However, it is the consistency within each remaking where the musician is identified.
Ryan’s simple song writing is lyrically driven. He openly reveals himself in attempts to move past himself and make it something more. He is not attached to a single style but his sound tributes past eras and places within its own discoveries.
Ryan is not a musician because it comes easy to him, sometimes it seems that the songs torture him. Ryan is a fighter.

Lingo
Hailing from Marietta, Georgia, Lingo has been turning heads in the southeast for over two years. With their infectious blend of songwriting and jam, they continue to blossom into one of the premier live acts in the region. With their debut album due out in the fall, recorded by Athens producer, John Keane (Widespread Panic, R.E.M, B-52's, Indigo Girls, Etc), with a guest appearance by Randall Bramblett, Lingo will continue to rapidly grow into a funky force to be reckoned with.
Lingo garners a sound that remains un-definable, yet recognizable. Whether it is the mixture of the subtle acoustic guitar accompanied by the flair of the electric guitar, the unique vocals that capture your attention, or the prominent bass and percussion that add their own signatures to the Lingo sound, it is clear that Lingo's music has tapped into something unique and special.

Consider the Source and Vortex Park
Doors @ 8pm

Consider the Source
Bearing the label 'Sci-Fi Middle Eastern Funk,' Consider The Source's sound is a melting pot of Middle Eastern scales, psychedelic jams and a hard rocking rhythm section. With influences ranging from The Bad Plus, Mahavishnu Orchestra, King Crimson and Tool-- tempered by a long visit to India where the band studied the complex tala (rhythm) of North India and the micro-tonal scale structure and melodic ornamentations of South India-- these New Yorkers have been making waves in their home city and spreading their music internationally and across the U.S. for a couple of years now. Consider the Source's new album, 'Are You Watching Closely', is set to expand on their already ethno-infused progressive palette. The new release has garnered respect from music critics and publications across the country. Relix magazine named the trio a 'Band On The Verge' in their August '09 issue, saying of the live performance "...instrumental Sci-Fi prog-rockers Consider the Source combine Middle-Eastern twangs, math-rock riff's, and an array of unworldly effects as they flawlessly groove their way through the intense jams, showcasing their diversity and pushing their instruments to the proverbial limit. Consider the Source demanded the attention of all in the room 'which it received." Over the past two years the band has toured in the Middle East and Turkey, as well as in many U.S. cities, performing alongside such luminaries as Victor Wooten, Wayne Krantz, Wyclef Jean and many others.

Cadillac Sky

CADILLAC SKY
2010 marks the metamorphosis of Cadillac Sky from a critically acclaimed
bluegrass band to a band without boundaries. Already praised as “original”,
“innovative”, “fearless”, “ambitious”, “propulsive” and “a marvel of emotion and
razor sharp focus”, Cadillac Sky is moving even further into new territory. Their
chosen instrumentation that imitates that of Bill Monroe’s classic bands belies the
depth of sound that these five young men create and becomes simply the
canvass that they paint from. Their music draws inspiration from many diverse
wells of creativity and artistry yet somehow they manage to create a sound that is
completely Cadillac Sky: one that rejects the straitjacket of labeling and instead
looks to make transcendent music and ultimately to paint its masterpiece.
Early in September of 2009, Cadillac Sky took another step in that direction when
acclaimed guitarist/producer and frontman for The Black Keys, Dan Auerbach,
took the reigns of their 3rd full length studio album “Letters in the Deep”. The
album is set to be released on Dualtone Records on June 8th, 2010. For more

THE ANYWHERE CELEBRATION CONGREGATION, features two traveling bands SAINT BERNADETTE and POVERTY HASH. Armed with call and response chants, hand claps, stomps, slide guitar and the divinely inspired but devil-charged energy of lead singers Meredith DiMenna and Joe Roberto, the ANYWHERE CELEBRATION CONGREGATION tour puts on a show that’s guaranteed to have the whole crowd speaking in tongues.
Saint Bernadette
Saint Bernadette is a quintet that is led by femme fatale vocalist Meredith DiMenna which offers a boozy, erotically charged aural accord that meshes a disparate template of psychedelic-meets-arena rock, with a peppering of jazz, all candy-coated with sing-along choruses that leaves you begging for more.
Poverty Hash
Poverty Hash, a supergroup of sorts in the Danbury area, forges a sound knee-deep in swamp blues stomp. Fronted by a seasoned veteran and propelled by a hungry young drummer, the band's traditional approach is rooted in familiarity, yet they mix in enough inventiveness to create a compelling hybrid.

O Mello Cello Tree
This acoustic, near neo-folk duo is comprised of two head strong women and have quite the tale to tell. Darby Tollison, known to her fans as Darby One, met Sarah Clanton a few years ago at Coffee Underground in Greenville South Carolina. Sarah was involved with another band, ViaMcbee, and finishing up Furman Univeristy. Before everyone's eyes Sarah fell into the throes of Darby's soulful tunes! After a classical fall out with the flute Darby began playing guitar at the age of thirteen. She always had hoped to integrate the cello into her music...somehow...It had to be fate that O Mello Cello Tree began as two musical soul mates found each other. Since 2006 O Mello Cello Tree has opened for various artists including Jump Little Children's Ward Williams, Niel Brooks, and Wasted Wine. The duo also participated in O.N.E. Music Festival 2007 and will be returning again this year. This summer O Mello Cello Tree will be performing at Music in the Woods at Paris Mountain State Park, a sustainable festival which Sarah Clanton has organized for the 2008 season. These ladies most recently made their way to the city of dreams, Nashville, Tennessee, via their tremendous fans. Now, with the release of their first professional album, Ride to Graybar Lane, O Mello Cello Tree hopes to gain serious ground in order to fund an east coast tour within the next year. With the support they have received so far, the possibilities now seem limitless.
