Eastern Standard
For the past six years, Eastern Standard has established itself as one of the strongest and most beloved Reggae bands in Georgia. The band has been continually progressing in their development of a truly unique form of Roots- Rock- Reggae. Part of the appeal of E. S. is their distinct ability to incorporate diverse musical influences into a style of original Reggae that never strays from the roots. Even audiences that may not be familiar with the Reggae genre find themselves engaged in the energetic and exotic sound. Unlike so many bands of today, E . S. has never been content to be a generic reggae band or afraid to take chances and explore uncharted musical territory. Attaining the elusive balance of classic and contemporary, rough and smooth - heavy and light, E. S. has that rare quality of versatility that enables them to be at once innovative and accessible. The lyrical themes are always conscious and inspiring. Collective chemistry and comradery which the band exemplifies are part of their intangible arsenal of appeal. Eastern Standard has devoted itself to becoming a consummate concert band, making each show a musical experience and taking each fan on a sonic journey.
E.S. Musicians include:
Dawit Selassie- Vocals/Guitar/Melodica
Ras Ed (Red I)- Drums
Ryan Wilson- Bass/Vocals
Senke- Keys/Vocals

Holly Howell
Decatur-based singer/songwriter Holly Howell came into this world
singing and has always had a deep love for music. She has punk rock
roots, and played guitar in the renowned 80’s Macon punk band, Vex, as
a senior in high school. In college at UGA, she found the Grateful
Dead and the Indigo Girls, which had a profound effect oh her music
sensibilities. In the early 90’s she put down her guitar for a while
to have 2 kids, and picked it up again a few years later. Her current
musical manifestation was jump-started from a performance class taught
by the Caroline Aiken. Soon after, Holly started writing songs,
stepped into the flow, and before she knew it, she was recording a CD.
Her band Moon Goddess Cotillion released their CD “Release” in fall
of 2008. The CD features guest vocals from Kevn Kinney of Drivn’ and
Cryin’ and blues performer Donna Hopkins. It was produced by Flournoy
Holmes, recorded at Bakos Studios, and mastered by Rodney Mills. In
addition to leading Moon Goddess Cotillion, she also sings harmony
vocals with Old Custer, and The Ramblers. Sometimes you may even see
her jump on stage to sing with her dear friends Donna Hopkins and
Ralph Roddenbery.

THAT 1 GUY
Presented by Windstorm Productions
Friday, February 19
Doors at 8:30pm
Cover $14
For years, That 1 Guy has been stunning crowds with his remarkably peculiar one-man show, applying his stand-up bass prowess to the monstrous, homemade instrument he calls The Magic Pipe. Standing nearly seven feet tall, The Magic Pipe is a chaotic collage of galvanized steel, duct tape and electronic gadgetry, run through an array of samplers and effects boxes. The pipe's unique, throbbing sound propels Mike Silverman (aka That 1 Guy) through tales about roadkill meals, sadistic birds and showers of meat. The music sounds a bit like Soul Coughing, Tom Waits, The Neptunes and Brian Eno having a tea party on the moon.
Cinetrope CD Release Party with Feeding Fingers and Nerd Parade
Doors @ 8pm
Cover $10 w/CD!!
Cinetrope
The beginnings of Cinetrope stemmed from conversations amidst two co-workers at a local bookstore. Their love for music and art
would ignite a friendship. In the summer of 2003 Sharron and Steve made a journey to Florida to perform for the first time together. This event would lead to the foundation for Cinetrope.
After many beers one evening with the trusty 16 track recorder, the skeleton of a couple of songs had emerged. Next enter the bassist. Charles and Steve had shared a job together
in a brief stint as office employees, trudging away in the vast cubicals of customer service.
Songs were being written when the final member of the band was found at a coffeeshop in Sharron’s neighborhood.
Scotty had just become bandless in a timely manner, when Sharron asked him to check out their demo. The personell of the band was complete.
The last thing to do now was to write more songs and come up with a name that fit the mood of the music. "This sounds like music you might hear in a film." Thus, Cinetrope, translating to "film music" became the monogram of the band.
Feeding Fingers
Feeding Fingers is a Stickfigure Records & Tephramedia post-punk/new-wave trio fronted by international
award-winning animator/multi-media artist, Justin Curfman and supported by multi-instrumentalist, Todd Caras
(2006 - 2009), Kris Anderson (2009 - present), and percussionist, Danny Hunt.
Their debut full-length album, "Wound in Wall" (Stickfigure Records/Tephramedia), was released in 2007 to
favorable review on an international scale.
Their second album, "Baby Teeth", was released January, 27, 2008 from Stickfigure Recordings, Tephramedia,
and NetManagement Musik Verlag and will be followed up by a U.S. tour with some dates in Canada and Europe
through 2009 and 2010.
Nerd Parade
Randy Garcia and Rich Wilson met in a Florida middle-school cafeteria in 1991. Soon after, the duo began to learn how to make music together. Typical practice sessions involved poor quality cassette recordings, liberal amounts of instrument swapping, guitar smashing and foul language befitting a pair of teenagers in the epoch of grunge. Forward 18 years and not much has changed — only now they can play a little better.
Garcia and Wilson, along with drummer Chris Sheldon and singer Abby Wren are the Nerd Parade, a titular phrase that is wholly descriptive of this group’s collective persona. Nerd Parade officially began in 2006 when a particularly disillusioned R. Garcia called upon his friends to take musical chances, zig where there could have easily been a zag, and never, ever take themselves too seriously.
Nerd Parade has created a distinct set of ethics for their musical output, eschewing the common teen angst and blatant negative themes of modern popular music in favor of a more positive (albeit bittersweet) approach. Their songs are clever and witty without being overtly intellectual, fun and challenging without being lofty. Evocative and personal, each Nerd Parade song tends to be a chapter in some larger narrative, drawing from real-life experience and designed to bring forth a sense of involvement from the listener, rather than rouse the most basic emotions.
